Damauli (Tanahun), Aug 12: Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has said that the construction of the Ghumaune bridge over the Trishuli river and connecting Tanahu to Chitwan will be carried out under a new contract.
At a meeting organized on Wednesday at Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality-3 in Tanahun, Dr Wagle, a MP from Tahanhu-1, mentioned that since the previous contract for the construction of the bridge has been terminated it will now be constructed under a new contract.
Recalling that he was very interested in the bridge connecting Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality and Bharatpur Metropolitan City when he was a member of parliament in the past, Finance Minister Wagle said that he had repeatedly spoken about it in the parliament.
Stating that he had already told the Minister of Infrastructure Development to resume construction of the bridge at any cost, Finance Minister Wagle said the current government has tried to make the development construction of quality by amending the Procurement Act.
Chair of Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality, Shukra Chuman, drew the attention of the Finance Minister to allocate the necessary budget for the overall development of the municipality. In the process, he drew attention to the priority issues of the local level, including infrastructure construction, expansion of the road network and promotion of the tourism sector.
