Kathmandu, Aug 10: A significant pilgrimage gathering is taking place at Pashupatinath, coinciding with the last Monday of Shrawan.
Despite inclement weather, devotees flocked to the temple, with all four doors opening at 3:00 am to accommodate the influx.
Kedarman Bhandari from the Pashupati Area Development Trust noted that arrangements were in place to ensure a smooth and orderly experience for visitors, including special worship management and a steady flow of devotees bringing water from Sundarijal for offerings.
To enhance safety and efficiency, a collaborative effort involving the trust’s officers, temple guards, and various police forces was implemented, particularly in key traffic areas such as Gaushala and Chabahil.
The temple will remain open until 8:00 pm, following an evening Aarati, with a special pooja scheduled from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.
The Pashupati Area Development Trust reported that while devotees began arriving early, the organized queue system minimized wait times. Additionally, essential services, including first aid and free health camps, were established to support the pilgrims throughout the event.
