Kathmandu, Aug 8: Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun said that the government has prioritized research, innovation and invention to drive the country’s prosperity.
At an interaction programme organized by Dhaulagiri Gaupalika Samaj in the capital city on Saturday, Minister Pun said research had been prioritized to create employment and reduce imports by producing equipment and goods needed in the country.
“The current government has given priority to research and invention. The Ministry has prepared programmes to produce the human resources needed for the country and prevent the brain drain of skilled human resources,” Minister Pun added.
On the occasion, people’s representatives from the local levels of Myagdi district discussed ideas to make the district prosperous through agricultural modernization, hydropower, tourism and livestock development.
Likewise, Minister Pun pledged to operate two new trekking routes along the Gurja-Dhorpatan and Dobade to Chimkhola in the district in the current fiscal year.
Similarly, measures to control landslides at Sirubari along the Beni-Jomsom road section and at Phaparkhet along the Beni-Darbang road section will be initiated immediately after the end of the monsoon season, Minister Pun assured.
