Nepal Quality Council meeting endorses various quality standards

Kathmandu, Aug 6: The 11h meeting of the Nepal Quality Council has approved the draft of the Nepal Quality and International Standards.

The meeting approved various quality standards recommended by the technical committee formed for quality determination and review in Nepal.

Representatives from the concerned ministries and officials from organizations participated in the meeting.

The council approved the specifications for ethanol used as a blending component in motor gasoline and standards related to elastomeric bridge bearings.

Similarly, various international standards related to rubber hardness testing have been approved.
The meeting also approved standards for determining compression set of rubber and thermoplastics.

According to the council, the decision was made with the aim of updating quality standards in line with current times and aligning them with international practices.

The approved standards are expected to help improve quality in industry and production sectors, make testing systems more effective, and align Nepali products with international standards.
Likewise, the process of quality determination and review will be made more organized and effective.
