Kathmandu, Aug 4: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Gauri Kumari Yadav, has urged industrialists and businesspersons to receive Nepal Standard (NS) Mark for their products in order to promote domestic products, ensure quality and reduce dependence on imports.
The use of NS Mark is imperative for the development of quality domestic products and market expansion, she underlined during a discussion with officials of the Department of Standards and Metrology. It is time to expand the scope of NS Mark, according to her. NS Mark not only facilitates in selling and distributing products produced in Nepal to the international market but also boosts consumers’ confidence.
The government has decided to provide necessary incentives to businesspersons and ease the process of obtaining NS Mark, the Minister shared. Various industrial products including cement, rods and tires produced in Nepal have received the NS Mark.
Lately, sanitary pads produced in Nepal have got the NS Mark. The Ministry has urged the industries and companies to complete necessary processes on time to get the essential mark, ensuring quality products.
