NC requests to initiate for release of Nepali farmers

Kathmandu, July 24: The Nepali Congress is urging the government to step up diplomatic efforts to secure the quick release of two Nepali farmers from Sarlahi who are currently imprisoned in Bihar, India.

In a statement from the party’s acting general secretary, Krishna Prasad Dulal, it was noted that Suresh Prasad Singh and Nagendra Prasad Singh, hailing from Balara Municipality in Sarlahi, were detained while returning from the Indian border after purchasing chemical fertilizers.

The NC has called for immediate action to free the farmers, emphasizing the need for a swift resolution to such delicate matters, especially considering the long-standing ties between Nepal and India, the open borders, and the close relationships shared by the citizens of both nations.
