Kathmandu, July 21: The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration has directed the district coordination officers and chief administrative officers to compulsorily attend offices regularly so that they could better coordinate disaster responses.
In view of the monsoon season, which may cause disasters in various parts of the country, the Ministry directed the local level authorities not to leave their offices during such sensitive time. Active presence and necessary coordination, facilitation and decision-making are imperative during such time, the Ministry added.
The incessant rains, causing floods and landslides in different parts of the country, require prompt response like rescue, relief, coordination and rehabilitation. The employees are therefore reminded to shorten their leave if any and attend the concerned offices regularly.
Continuous contact and coordination with the concerned District Administration Office, security agencies, provinces and federal bodies is essential for prompt information and response to the disaster with rescue, relief works and subsequent collection of details on property damages. The Ministry recently issued a circular on it.
