Government’s 100 Days in Office: Priority to citizen-friendly services

Kathmandu, July 4: The government is focused on ensuring citizen-friendly services. The process has been initiated to provide passports to doorsteps in all districts except Humla and Bhojpur.

The government had embodied the campaign of delivering government services at doorsteps.

Unveiling the government’s key accomplishments in its 100 days at the Office on Saturday, Government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel said that the government is making every effort to enhance the public trust and confidence towards the government by delivering citizen-friendly services.

It is said so far, 206,330 passports have been sent to the concerned District Administration Office through the post, while the concerned office has delivered 5,728 passports to the doorsteps of the service recipients.

As the government said, 500 staff employed at the front desk have been trained by the Nepal Administrative Staff College and Training Academy and the Local Development Training Academy so as to ensure that the passport-related service delivery is effective and citizen-friendly.

Likewise, arrangements are in place to obtain permanent account number (PAN) and certificate of the companies that are registered with the Registrar of Companies from the same office as well as from 120 local levels.

Similarly, the government in this period printed 2,375,181 driving licenses driver’s licenses, while additional 2.9 million copies are expected to be printed by mid-July.

Likewise, budget has been ensured for the implementation of the one-door service system in all 32 districts as per the submissions from the task force formed to this regard by all the district administration offices.
