Self-realization needed to ensure robust public relations, says former President Bhandari

Kathmandu, June 28: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that the communist movement should be led by further strengthening the policy, working style and organizational setup.
At a programme organized today on 75th birth anniversary of late communist figure Madan Bhandari, the former President opined that Nepal’s communist movement was in a threshold of new opportunities and challenges.

She argued that drawing a conclusion on the relevance of people’s multiparty democracy or the communist movement based on the result of a particular elections was inappropriate but added that review and self-realization was required by further strengthening public relations.

The communist movement should internalize the changing social structure, ongoing new aspirations among youths and shift taking place in the world and the massive development of technology, she added.
Also speaking at the same event, former prime minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli claimed that his party has not erred by going against the interests of the people and country.
Oli argued that his party’s policy and programmes were correct and timely and called for unity among the democratic and left forces.

On the occasion, Madan Bhandari Foundation honoured Ramesh Ruchhen Rai with Madan Bhandari National Prize 2082 BS for his creation ‘Shewtdhardul’. The prize carries a purse of Rs 200,000.
