APF’s Anita Karki Successfully Climbs Mt. Everest

Kathmandu, May 17: Anita Karki, an Assistant Head Constable of the Armed Police Force Nepal (APF), has successfully summited Mt. Everest, the world’s highest peak.

According to APF Assistant Spokesperson DSP Shailendra Thapa, Karki reached the summit at 10:20 am on Sunday, achieving a historic milestone.

With the ascent, Karki has become the third APF personnel to climb Everest and the first female employee of the force to successfully scale the mountain.

She received advanced mountain rescue training from the APF Nepal Mountain Rescue Training School and has previously summited Chulu Far East and Lobuche peaks in Manang district.

A national-level fencing player, Karki was born in Chuchure of Gokulganga Rural Municipality-1 in Ramechhap district. APF Nepal stated that her achievement reflects discipline, courage, determination and high morale, further enhancing the organization’s prestige.

During the expedition, Nima Sange Sherpa served as her guide and climbing support.
