Opposition parties draw govt. attention to contemporary issues

Kathmandu, April 30: A meeting of three opposition parties in the Federal Parliament has drawn the attention of the government to the contemporary issues.

The meeting comprising Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party in the House of Representatives, Basna Thapa, Chief Whip of the Nepali Communist Party in HoR, Yubaraj Dulal, and CPN (UML) Parliamentary leader in the National Assembly, Prem Prasad Dangal expressed concerns over the issues including long-term solution to problems of landless squatters.

Issuing a press release after the meeting, the leaders urged the government to control price hike, make arrangement of chemical fertilizer for farmers on time and provide compensation to poultry farmers affected by bird flu.

Similarly, the meeting also demanded the government for smooth supply of petroleum products and concessional package, to not revoke student organisations and employees trade union and ensure participation of the opposition parties in the discussion to be organised for preparation of upcoming policies, programmes and budget of the government.
