Kathmandu, April 27: Ten people have died in natural disaster incidents in a day.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 10 people died in 69 disaster-induced incidents that occurred in the last 24 hours.
Similarly, 25 others were injured in such incidents. According to NDRRMA Spokesperson, Shanti Mahat, of them, five persons died from lightning.
Likewise, two died from high altitude sickness, one from fire incident, and one each from snakebite and animal attack. A total of 38 incidents of lightning occurred during the period and 19 were injured.
Property worth Rs 3.8 million were destroyed in these incidents. Incidents of natural disaster occurred in 52 different districts across the country.
According to the Authority, 33 people lost their lives and 121 people were injured from natural disaster incidents in the last 14 days. A total of 544 disaster-induced incidents occurred during the period.
