Kathmandu, April 19 : Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has begun efforts to forge broader unity within the party, holding a meeting with senior leader Purna Bahadur Khadka on Sunday evening.
Thapa visited Khadka at his residence in Golfutar, where the two leaders discussed ways to resolve internal differences and promote cohesion within the party.
Speaking after the meeting, Thapa said the engagement was part of a broader initiative to consult senior leaders. “I have started dialogue with senior leaders for broader party unity,” he said.
He added that a recent Supreme Court decision has created a conducive environment for party members to come together and move forward collectively to strengthen the party.
Thapa also noted that preparations for the party’s 15th General Convention are already underway, urging party leaders and cadres to take it as an opportunity to transform and consolidate the party.
