Agency, April 11: In the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals continued their excellent form with a fourth consecutive victory, defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets on Friday evening.
Chasing a challenging target of 202 runs, Rajasthan reached the total comfortably in just 18 overs, losing four wickets along the way.
The chase was powered by explosive innings from Dhruv Jurel and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Jurel smashed 81 runs off 43 balls, hitting 8 fours and 3 sixes, while Suryavanshi delivered a blistering 78 off just 26 balls, including 8 fours and 7 sixes. Contributions also came from Ravindra Jadeja (24) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (13).
For Bangalore, Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya picked up two wickets each but couldn’t prevent the defeat.
Earlier in the match at Guwahati, RCB—after being put in to bat—posted 201/8 in their 20 overs. Captain Rajat Patidar led from the front with a solid 63 off 40 balls, including 4 fours and 4 sixes. Virat Kohli scored 32, while Venkatesh Iyer remained unbeaten on 29. Valuable contributions also came from Romario Shepherd (22), Devdutt Padikkal (14), Tim David (22), and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (9*).
With the ball, Jofra Archer, Ravi Bishnoi, and Brjesh Sharma claimed two wickets each for Rajasthan, while Sandeep Sharma and Jadeja took one apiece.
With this win, Rajasthan Royals sit at the top of the table with 8 points from 4 matches, while Royal Challengers Bangalore are third with 4 points from the same number of games.
