Port Louis, April 10 : Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal held a bilateral meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Friday during the 9th Indian Ocean Conference in Mauritius.
Jaishankar congratulated Khanal on his appointment as foreign minister, marking their first formal interaction since he assumed office.
The two leaders reviewed the longstanding and multifaceted Nepal–India relationship, discussing key areas of cooperation and shared interests. According to officials, the talks were constructive and forward-looking.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation across sectors.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the April 10–12 conference in Port Louis, which has brought together regional leaders to deliberate on issues including maritime security and regional collaboration.
