Traffic management in Kathmandu Valley discussed

Kathmandu, April 10: The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office organized a discussion programme here today, focusing on the ‘traffic’ management of the Kathmandu Valley, with the participation of technical personnel, security officials, civil society and media representatives.

A detailed discussion on traffic management challenges took place during the meeting chaired by the House of Representatives member Ashish Gajurel.

On that occasion, MP Gajurel highlighted that despite limited resources, the traffic police are bearing a huge responsibility and emphasised that the use of technology, adequate manpower, and provision of equipment are necessary to make traffic management effective.

International development expert and mechanical engineer Ramchandra Thapa shared information on the technical aspects related to road infrastructure. He emphasised the need for infrastructure improvement and stressed long-term planning.
Head of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Nawaraj Adhikari, said that the traffic police deployed on the roads are performing their duties while facing various risks.
