Govt. decides to give weekly holiday on Saturday and Sunday

Kathmandu, April 5: The government has decided to give public holiday to government employees on Saturday and Sunday, effective from April 6.

A cabinet meeting held today took this decision. According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, this decision would be implemented in all government offices and educational institutions from Monday (tomorrow).

Similarly, the meeting accepted the concessional loan of 90 million US dollar provided by the Asian Development Bank and World Bank for ‘Digital Nepal Transformation’ project.

Education Minister and Spokesperson of the government, Sasmit Pokharel, said the government also accepted the concessional loan of 95 million US dollar provided by the World Bank for Sustainable and Inclusive Finance Project.

Likewise, permission was given to conduct organization and management (O&M) survey of all ministries, secretariats and commissions and their subordinate bodies.

The Cabinet meeting also approved the resignation tendered by Executive Chairperson of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Dharmendra Jha, as well as decided to make arrangement to convert diesel and petrol vehicles to electric vehicles.

Similarly, the government took the decision to run coming academic session from Baishakh 15.
