Kathmandu, March 28: The government has decided to form a high-level investigation committee within a week to investigate the facts of the incident that occurred on September 9 during the Gen Z movement.
The government has decided to instruct the said committee to collect, analyse all details related to the incident, identify the responsible parties and submit a report within a specified timeframe. Based on this recommendation, it is mentioned in the government’s reform-related agenda that further necessary action procedures will be initiated.
It is stated that necessary investigation, action, and prosecution processes against the guilty person or party under the prevailing law will be immediately carried forward based on the report of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led Commission, established to investigate the facts of the events that occurred during the said movement.
It is mentioned that an integrated initiative will be undertaken to restore justice, rehabilitation and public confidence in the state for families and citizens affected by the events during the Gen Z movement. Under this initiative, it is stated in the action plan that a ‘package’ of employment in the government, public and private sectors, according to eligibility, will be announced within 100 days to ensure respectful rehabilitation, livelihood security and social protection, after collecting and verifying data of martyr families and the injured.
