Kathmandu, March 19: The Nepal Police arrested three persons with 28,900 US dollars from Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday.
They are Anita Lama, 45, of Nagarjun municipality-1 in Kathmandu; Sangita Lama, 38, of Sunkoshi rural municipality-6 in Sindhupalchowk; and Binod Lama, 47, of Lishshankhupakhar rural municipality-7 in Sindhupalchowk, shared Spokesperson at TIA Security Office, Raj Kumar Silwal.
Silwal added, “Such amount of US dollars was confiscated from them in course of hand baggage screening and frisking at TIA when they were flying to Guangzhou, China.”
The police seized 10,000 US dollars of 100 denomination each from Anita and Sangita, and 8,900 US dollars of 100 denomination from Binod. All the arrested ones were handed over to the Department of Revenue Investigation, Lalitpur for additional investigation and legal action.
