Kathmandu, March 16: Foreign Minister Bala Nanda Sharma held a telephone conversation with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, discussing the evolving situation in the West Asia region.
During the talks, Minister Sharma expressed concern over the attack on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and appreciated the efforts made by the Kuwaiti government to maintain stability and ensure the safety of all residents, including the Nepali community.
Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Al-Sabah said the ongoing war violates international law and United Nations humanitarian law, and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to safeguarding Nepali nationals in Kuwait.
Both sides stressed the importance of restraint, dialogue and diplomatic engagement to maintain peace and stability in the region, expressing hope for an early de-escalation of tensions.
