Guglielmo Arena appointed head coach of national football team

Kathmandu, March 13: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has appointed Italian coach Guglielmo Arena as the new head coach of the Nepali national football team.
ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai conferred the appointment letter on Arena today.

He arrived in Nepal two weeks ago. Born in Switzerland, Arena holds Italian citizenship. As an AFC Pro-License coach, he has extensive experience of managing various clubs and national teams in four continents. Arena will be head coach here for one year.

He was the coach to senior and youth national football teams of Laos in the recent stint. Nepal is facing Hong Kong under Arena’s guidance in an international friendly match being played on March 26.

After playing with Hong Kong, the team departs to Laos for the concluding match of the third round of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.

While receiving the appointment letter, Arena vowed improving the skills of Nepali players and contributing to production of talent players.
