Kathmandu, Dec 26: Vice-President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has commended that the private sector has played an instrumental role in improving the quality of education in the country.
Addressing at event organized on the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN)’s 9th national convention at Budhanilakantha, Kathmandu today, Vice-President Yadav emphasized that the education system must be made practical, skill-oriented and linked to employment that aligns with the need of the current time.
The Vice-President also called for collaboration between the government and private sector for the development of the education sector.
Reflecting on the impact of the Gen-Z movement that took place on September 8 and 9 this year, he noted that the uprising had brought forth new perspective and guidance as to how to usher the country.
According to him, the movement had also inspired to make the education system more relevant and timely.
Furthermore, he pointed out the need to link teaching-learning process to practical life rather than limiting it to theoretical knowledge.
VP Yadav also suggested that the organization like HISSAN should contribute to developing curriculum that incorporate and respect local culture, values and identity.
Similarly, HISSAN’s Chairperson Ramesh Kumar Silwal highlighted the crucial role of private sector in fostering inclusive, quality education and skill-based education.
On the occasion, participants including education experts, private school’s operators and representatives from teachers’ associations acknowledged and praised the significant contributions of HISSAN in development of education sector in the country.
