Two Newly Appointed Ministers Take Oath of Office and Secrecy

Kathmandu, Oct 26:  Two newly appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy on Sunday at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas. President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath to Dr. Sudha Sharma Gautam as Minister for Health and Population and Bablu Gupta as Minister for Youth and Sports.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki had earlier recommended Ganpatilal Shrestha and Khagendra Sunar for ministerial positions. However, Sunar’s name was withdrawn after it was revealed that he had pending court cases. He had been proposed for the post of Minister for Labour, Employment, and Social Security.

Similarly, the nomination of Ganpatilal Shrestha, who had been recommended for the Ministry of Land Management and Cooperatives, was retracted at the last moment.
Sunday’s appointments mark the third expansion of the government led by Prime Minister Karki since its formation one and a half months ago. With the new additions, the Council of Ministers now comprises 10 members, including the Prime Minister.
