Kathmandu, Oct 21: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has vowed the government actions as per mandate. “Election will be held and investigation into corruption forwarded,” she added.
PM Karki said it during the meeting she held with those injured during the Gen-Z protest on Tuesday. In the discussion held at her official residence, Baluwatar, PM Karki reiterated, “We don’t have luxury to go against Gen-Z movement. We follow every legal procedure in the actions.”
She reminded that the established institutions of State had forwarded investigations and actions against the corrupt leaders. “You may have been aware how the comments were passed by those brought under investigation by the government,” she said, urging Gen-Z youths to continue watch over government activities.
The youths injured during the Gen-Z protest suggested the government that it took action against those suppressing the peaceful protest. They also sought stringent action against the corrupt leaders.
A team of 18 persons led by an injured youth, Rupin Khadka, reminded PM Karki that she could take radical move because she was leading the government formed on the back up of revolt. Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal updated the youths on the investigation being carried out against the corrupt leaders and suppressors of the Gen-Z protest.
The discussion was also attended by Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, Education Minister Mahabir Pun and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel.
Some of the Gen-Z youths expressed worry over the attempt made by some accused ones to flee the country.
In response, Home Minister Aryal said the persons initially fleeing the country were emerging again in the country after the abortive efforts to escape the investigation.
