Kathmandu, Oct 17: Prime Minister Sushila Karki briefed heads of diplomatic missions in Nepal on the country’s latest political developments on Friday. During a meeting held at Singha Durbar, she informed the envoys about the government’s priorities and the overall political situation.
Prime Minister Karki said the government’s key focus is to ensure political stability and conduct fair and transparent elections. She emphasized that recent public movements have strengthened citizens’ expectations for transparency, accountability, and good governance, and assured that the government is committed to meeting those expectations.
Highlighting the government’s anti-corruption drive, Karki said that files have been reopened to initiate action against widespread corruption and those involved in it.
“The current government is determined to hold free and impartial elections within six months and peacefully hand over power to the newly elected government,” Prime Minister Karki said.
