Gorkha, Oct 10: A youth has died due to altitude sickness while on the way to Larke under the Manaslu trail.
Rajkumar Shrestha, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, said that 23-year-old Rohan Prajapati of Madhyapur Municipality, Bhaktapur, died due to altitude sickness on Thursday afternoon.
Prajapati, along with his companions, reached Dharmashala in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-1, northern Gorkha, on Thursday while heading to Larke via the Manaslu trail.
“Prajaapati died while crossing the Larke pass. Four others have descended towards Manang,” he said. DSP Shrestha stated that Prajaapati’s body has been brought to Samagaun and preparations are underway to send it to Kathmandu by helicopter.
