Barhathawa (Sarahi), Sept 27: Two youths died and another was injured in a motorcycle accident that took place Friday night at Brahmapuri rural municipality-5 in southern Sarlahi, along the Postal Highway.
Police confirmed that Ankit Chaudhary (23) and Rohit Sahani (25), both from Brahmapuri rural municipality-2, died in the accident.
The injured person is Shiva Shankar Pundit (23), who is currently receiving treatment at LS Neuro Hospital in Bara, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Saroj Rai.
The accident happened when a Scorpio SUV with an Indian number plate MH 04 DJ 1297, coming from Parsa to Bhelhi, hit the motorcycle carrying the three youths.
Chaudhary and Sahani were pronounced dead upon arrival at Ramjanaki Hospital, Janakpur.
Police have taken both vehicles into custody, but the Scorpio driver fled the scene and is currently being searched for by the police, it is said.
