Kathmandu, Sept 22: Four newly appointed ministers of the interim government took the oath of office and secrecy at Sheetal Niwas on Monday. President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath at a special ceremony.
Former judge Anil Kumar Sinha, National Innovation Center founder Mahabir Pun, journalist Jagadish Kharel, and expert Madan Pariyar were sworn in. Sinha will lead the Ministry of Industry, Law, and Land; Pun the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology; Kharel the Ministry of Communication and Information; and Pariyar the Ministry of Agriculture.
Health Secretary Dr. Sangita Mishra had also been recommended for a ministerial role, but her name was removed at the last moment. Sources said her exclusion was linked to complaints over decisions made during her tenure as Director General of the Department of Health Services, with several procurement files currently under investigation by the anti-graft body.
