Kathmandu, June 16 : Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) General Secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana has been released on bail following a court order issued by the Kathmandu District Court on Monday.

A single bench of Judge Shiv Prasad Khanal ordered Rana’s release upon furnishing a bail amount of Rs 300,000. Rana had appeared before the court earlier in the day, after which his statement was recorded.

The prosecution had demanded penalties under these offenses. In the same case, the court had earlier released 32 individuals on bail while sending seven others, including controversial figure Durga Prasai, to pre-trial detention.
