CM Karki Urges Chinese Envoy for Support in Agriculture, Tourism

Morang, June 13: Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, on Friday urged Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, to support the province in agriculture, tourism, and information technology.

During a meeting held at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, the two discussed matters of mutual interest. CM Karki highlighted the importance of the Kimathanka–Jogbani road, noting its potential to boost Nepal’s tourism and development.

Ambassador Song emphasized the need to link agricultural production with modern technology to enhance quality and market access. He also inquired about delays in road construction on the Nepali side of the Kimathanka region, stating that work on the Chinese side had already been completed.

According to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Ambassador Song stressed the importance of accelerating construction efforts in Nepal. The Chinese envoy is currently on a visit to Koshi Province, inspecting various China-supported projects in Ilam and other areas.
