Agency, May 8: French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has advanced to the final of the UEFA Champions League. In the second leg of the semifinal played on Wednesday night, PSG defeated Arsenal 2-1, securing a 3-1 aggregate victory to book a spot in the final against Inter Milan.
The match took place at the Parc des Princes, where Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi each scored a goal to seal the win for PSG. Bukayo Saka scored the lone goal for Arsenal. Ruiz opened the scoring in the 27th minute to give PSG an early lead. In the 69th minute, Vitinha missed a penalty that could have doubled the home side’s advantage.
However, just three minutes later, Hakimi found the net to extend PSG’s lead to 2-0. Arsenal responded in the 76th minute, with Saka reducing the deficit to 2-1. Despite both teams’ efforts, no further goals were scored, and PSG emerged victorious.
PSG had previously won the first leg 1-0, giving them a 3-1 aggregate result over the two matches.
PSG will now face Inter Milan in the final on May 31. Inter Milan secured their place by narrowly defeating Barcelona with a 7-6 aggregate score in their semifinal clash.
