Minister Lekhak takes stock of health condition of injured persons

Kathmandu, April 9: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has taken stock of the health condition of those injured in the Tinkune violence. He reached different hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley to know about the injured ones’ health status and assured government’s assistance to their treatment.

“Cabinet meeting had decided to bear the cost of treatment of those injured in the Tinkune incidents. So, I came here to know whether the hospitals have provided them treatment accordingly,” Minister Lekhak said before the patients’ attendants at the hospitals.

He informed that the concerned hospitals would verify the bills on treatment spending, and government reimburse the fund as per bill later. “The bill for expense on medicine which is verified by the hospital should be submitted to the Health Ministry for the payment,” Minister made it clear.

Two persons had died in the March 28 demonstration organized by the supporters of ex-king at Tinkune, Kathmandu. Five persons among many injured in the violent activities have been receiving treatment at different hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley.

The Home Ministry’s secretariat informed that he even met Sanjay Yadav, who has been receiving treatment at the National Trauma Centre, Kathmandu. Yadav was however injured in a protest organized at Tabela municipality of Janakpur.
