Kathmandu – The meeting of the House of Representatives is being held today. The meeting, scheduled for 11 AM, will include an address by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The Prime Minister is expected to speak on various issues, including the violent demonstrations by royalists last Friday and the ongoing controversy over the dismissal of Nepal Electricity Authority’s Executive Director, Kulman Ghising, raised by opposition parties.
The parliamentary session has remained obstructed for a week due to protests from opposition parties, including the main opposition, CPN (Maoist Centre).
Today’s meeting agenda includes the tabling of the “Banking Offense and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill – 2080”, along with a message received from the National Assembly.
Similarly, Chairperson of the Infrastructure Development Committee, Deepak Bahadur Singh, will present the committee’s report on the “Water Resources Bill – 2081.”
Likewise, Chairperson of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee, Ammar Bahadur Thapa, will present the committee’s report on the “Martyr Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences Bill – 2081.”
Furthermore, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya, will present a proposal for deliberation on the “Nepal Bar Council (Second Amendment) Bill – 2081,” which originated in the National Assembly.
Additionally, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak will present a proposal to refer the “Nepal Citizenship (Second Amendment) Bill – 2081” to the relevant committee for clause-wise discussion.
