Siraha, March 7: The District Police Office, Siraha on Friday made public six people alleged of their roles in the gang rape and suspected death of Rinku Kumari Sada, 17, of Bhagawatipur of Nawaraj rural municipality-1 in the district.
So far, eight people have been arrested in connection with the incident while four other accused are on the run.
Of them, Rupesh Mandal is an alleged mastermind in the rape while Nathuni Shah is the ward member who participated in the local village council that reportedly forced the girl to resolve the case internally.
Others arrested for their engagement in the village council are Ram Kripal Mandal, Bindeshwor Shah, Rajendra Mandal, Chandeshwor Mandal, Rambinod Mandal and Kamalesh Das, Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Kumar Paswan said.
Of them, Chandeshwor, Ram Binod, and Kamalesh were apprehended on February 23 while the main accused Rupesh was arrested on March 5. Remaining others were arrested from various hideouts on Friday. The arrested are under investigation.
