Political collaboration essential during crisis: Vice Chair Pokharel

Palpa, Feb 28: Senior Vice Chairman of the CPN UML, Ishwor Pokhrel, has said the political parties built collaboration when the country saw crisis.

During an orientation organized by Palpa district committee of UML at Tansen on Friday, the Senior Vice Chairman reminded the collaboration between the big political parties- the Nepali Congress and the UML- during the historical change and national crises.

“NC represents liberalism, while communist represents proletariats. So, there is not only collaboration but also competition between these two parties,” he explained.

Moreover, he viewed the collaboration and competition reinforces democratic system. The competition and collaboration between these parties are multidimensional, according to him.

Leader Pokhrel further recounted the collaboration between the NC and communists in the anti-Rana movement, people’s movements of 2036BS, 2046BS and 2062/63BS. They had stood together while promulgating the current constitution as well.

He also informed his party cadres that the orientation programme was held to reach the grassroots.
