Damak, May 3: A shot was fired at a student at Damak, Jhapa on Friday afternoon. According to the Police, a 17-year-old Yenika Adhikari was returning after appearing from exams grade 12 from Himalaya Secondary School when shot near the Elderly Citizens Institute from Damak-5.
Adhikari received bullet wounds in the stomach and is receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Damak-based Lifeline Hospital.
Being a permanent resident of Udayapur, she was renting at Damak. Police have been mobilized on the premises of the hospital.
According to police on the case, it has been revealed from the preliminary investigation that one shot of a bullet was fired in her stomach.According to the hospital, the bullet has been removed from the stomach.
The spokesperson of the District Police Office, Jhapa, Krishna Kumar Chand said that the person who fired the bullet had fled and the search is underway.
