Kathmandu, Jan 7: As many as 13 people have been injured in Nepal after an earthquake measuring 7.0 in the Richter scale struck Dinggye of Tibet Autonomous Region of China this morning, police said. Two of the injured went unconscious.
Central spokesperson of Nepal Police, Senior Superintendent of Police Bishwa Adhikari informed 13 people were injured in different districts while two houses were completely damaged, one partial and 11 houses suffered minor damage.
He, however, told RSS that more details were yet to be ascertained as police personnel have been deployed to collect the details. He shared that one person was injured in Kathmandu, 11 in Bara and one in Kavre.
According to the official, the person was injured in Kathmandu while fleeing, 11 people fell unconscious after the earthquake in Bara and one person from Kavre was injured when rolling stones fall on him.
According to him, the earthquake fully damaged one house, partially damaged a house in Solukhumbu and three houses in Taplejung, one in Sindhupalchowk and one in Ramechhap suffered minor damage.
Meanwhile, the government has made a public request to inform about the damage caused by the earthquake that struck Dingyi County in the Tibet (Sichuan Autonomous Region) of neighboring China.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs has said that no casualty has been reported in Nepal so far.—
