Prajwal Thapa| Marcelo joins the long injury list of Real Madrid as Brazilian defender has been ruled out for three weeks with a muscular injury.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Marcelo by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to his left soleus”, club released a statement on Wednesday.
Marcelo had a great performance in Real Madrid’s 2-0 home win over Getafe on Tuesday which took Madrid second on points table of leauge. He also provided a pass to Mendy’s goal in the 66th minute. But at the end Marcelo left game with an injury. Madrid is still five points behind leauge leader Atletico Madrid, who still have two games in hand.
Now, He will surely miss first leg of the Champions Leauge round of 16 against Atalanta on February 24. He will also miss games of domestic leauge against Valencia, Real Valladolid and Real Sociedad.
Along with Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Rodrygo, Valverde, Militiao, Odriozola, Hazard, Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez are also out with injuries.
